Virtual Strategic Plan Feedback Sessions

Virtual Strategic Plan Feedback Sessions

Hello RPS Students, Families, Staff and Community,

As you may recall, we have been working to create a new strategic plan for Richfield Public Schools. We started this process almost a year ago, with hundreds of students, staff, families and community members providing input through a series of in-person meetings and online forms.

With the COVID-19 pandemic closing schools last March, the strategic planning process was also put on hold—but it’s back!

We have synthesized all the feedback you provided and we are now ready with a draft of the plan, which we are calling Richfield Realized. We would like to share this draft with you for your feedback.

Please join us at one of the two online community meetings we are hosting. The community meetings will take place on Thursday, Oct. 22, at 7 p.m. and on Tuesday, Nov. 17, at 4:30 p.m. Please pre-register to receive the link for the online meeting.

If you are not able to attend one of the live online meetings, you can access a recording of the presentation and submit your feedback online.

We hope you like the draft plan. Our team worked very hard to incorporate all the feedback you provided and to create something that will lead us in the right direction for the next five years with a focus on equity, expanding school offerings, and better engaging our students, families and community.

I hope to see you at one of the upcoming meetings.

Sincerely,

Superintendent Steven Unowsky

Due to the shelter in place order and the ban on large gatherings, we have moved the next phase of our strategic planning process online. Your voice is as important as ever as we prioritize the feedback submitted by families, students, staff and the greater community.

As of February 26, we have received 846 comments from 424 people on our 2020-25 strategic plan. This includes attendees at the January 14 and February 10 community engagement sessions, as well as people who have completed the online form. We have grouped the comments into themes and summarized them here.

The first two large-scale community engagement sessions focused on what residents, families and other stakeholders think about Richfield Public Schools and where they want to see the district head over the next five years. If you missed the meetings, you can still submit your feedback online.
