Help us identify priorities that will make Richfield a safer place for students to walk, run, bike, skateboard, roller skate and scooter to school (among other non-motorized options).
Two ways you can help:
- Take our Safe Routes to School survey where you can share your feelings about your child walking and biking to school.
- Use this interactive map to report specific safety concerns near your child’s school. You can also share your existing walking and biking routes.
The deadline to complete one (or both) of these feedback options is Friday, Nov. 15 (by midnight).
Your feedback will be used to update our Safe Routes to School plan (with funding from the Minnesota Department of Transportation). The plan will recommend ways to make walking and biking to school easier, safer and more comfortable for students and families.
Does your feedback matter? Yes!
Results from our annual Safe Routes to School survey allowed us to identify areas of concern and leverage $2.3 million in grants (in partnership with the City of Richfield) to address them. These include increased traffic markings near schools, a new sidewalk behind RDLS/R-STEM and bicycle safety training for students in grades 4-12 - among other things!
