Senior Stories: Isaac Okey

Senior Stories: Isaac Okey

“Isaac Okey is a charismatic student who loves to greet everyone in the hallway,” said teacher Emily Mattson. “His smile brings joy to all the other students around him.”

After graduation, Isaac will be attending the RPS Transition Plus program. During his time at RHS, he enjoyed participating in the first RHS adaptive bowling team. His favorite class was PE, because he loves to be active and play games. His mom writes, “He especially loved when RHS had a Unified Phy Ed class, because he got a chance to meet new people. It was great that other students had a chance to learn about Isaac and work together with students with disabilities.”

“Isaac truly loves all of his teachers,” she said. “Their patience and kindness are boundless. He has known Ms. Mattson since middle school when she worked as a paraprofessional in his classroom and he is thrilled to have her as a teacher at the high school.”

Outside of school, Isaac participates in Track and Field through Special Olympics and loves his weekly swimming lessons at the Courage Center. He also enjoys going for walks, playing Wii and spending time with family.

Isaac’s friends describe him as funny, charming and friendly. He loves waving hello to people, giving everyone high fives or fist bumps, and showing everyone his crazy socks or t-shirts.
