Senior Stories: Ejnar Hewitt

Senior Stories: Ejnar Hewitt

“I’ve had the joy of teaching Ejnar for three years,” said Madame Steele, RHS French teacher. “He’s joyful, empathetic, kind, bright and an incredible leader. As a basketball captain this year, I watched him check on his teammates and younger players to encourage them to get to class, work hard and be leaders themselves.”

Ejnar Hewitt is grateful to Madame Steele, as well, for her encouragement and support. “Madame Steele has had the greatest impact on me because she has helped me in more ways than I can count—she's helped me mentally when I've been down, she's pushed me to work harder in my classes, and she's just been a great ally.”

After high school, Ejnar plans to attend college and use his education to enter a career in music production. He hopes to one day own a record label, work with global artists or on movie/video game soundtracks, and use his creativity to live comfortably. “I see myself using the music I create to pay off my college tuition in full,” he said. “I also plan on owning my home and maybe even getting a real estate license.”

How does he plan to get there? “I plan on working on my craft everyday, keeping my mental health healthy and most of all having fun while I work to achieve my goals.”

Outside of school, Ejnar enjoys playing basketball and was part of DECA. His creativity extends from making beats and writing songs, to creating concepts for anime and video games. He also likes going on walks and watching superhero movies.

Ejnar’s family has had a big impact on him. He says his family are his favorite people and his biggest support system. “I love them with everything in my body,” he says.

At RHS, Ejnar most enjoyed American Government/Economics because the teacher, Mrs. Olejnicak, “laid the classes out in a way that makes sense and that I could understand.” He appreciated the class discussions and projects. In fact, one of Ejnar’s favorite things about school has been hearing different opinions on various topics.

Ejnar’s advice to freshmen: “Maintain a stable balance of hard work and fun. You should always try to have fun, but make sure that you work hard while you have time, because anything you don't do then, you'll have to make up for later.”
