Senior Stories: Alexis Mosqueda
Alexis Mosqueda has always been fascinated by detectives from watching TV shows and playing as a child. “As a kid, l liked to watch cop shows and even pretend to be a detective,” explained Alexis, who said he would also dress up as a detective while playing.
But his dream isn't just about solving crimes; it's about helping people in his community. He knows that reaching his dreams will take hard work and perseverance, a lesson he learned from his dad. Even though his dad passed away during high school, Alexis found strength in his family. He cherishes his mom's cooking and credits his family for helping him grow into a responsible person.
“l want to work hard and not give up - whatever comes my way, l know l can do it. Nothing will stop me because my dad told me nothing in life is easy and there will be obstacles in my path,” said Alexis. “He will always be my inspiration.”
At school, Alexis enjoys the friendships he's made over the years. He values the support of his friends who were always there for him when he needed them the most.
As he looks back on his high school journey, Alexis wants to give advice to new students. He tells them to enjoy themselves but also to take their studies seriously and seek help when they need it. His own experiences have taught him the importance of balance and seeking support. “There are teachers around that could help you, all you have to do is ask and don’t be afraid,” he advises.
In his own words, Alexis describes himself as a mix of funny and humble. He enjoys TV shows that explore human experiences, showing his interest in understanding people and their stories.
Overall, Alexis Mosqueda's story is about facing challenges with courage and kindness. Whether it's his dream of becoming a detective or his dedication to family and education, Alexis shows he's resilient and determined. As he moves forward, one thing is clear: Alexis Mosqueda is ready to make a positive impact on the world around him.
