Senior Noah Mayer Nominated for AAA Award

Noah Mayer, a senior at Richfield High School, was recently named a nominee for the Minnesota State High School League’s (MSHSL) Academic, Arts, and Athletics (AAA) Award. This prestigious honor recognizes a senior who excels academically while actively participating in both athletic and fine arts programs.

To be considered for the MSHSL AAA Award, a student must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, participate in at least one league-sponsored athletic program, and be involved in at least one fine arts activity.

Throughout his time at Richfield High School, Noah has consistently demonstrated strong time management skills, dedication and leadership. He is especially proud of his ability to balance rigorous academics while remaining committed to athletics and the arts.

One of Noah’s favorite courses at the high school is CIS Introduction to Literature. Noah described Dr. Schiffler as someone who has had a significant impact on his academic path. When we asked Dr. Schiffler about Noah, she shared the following: “One of the highest compliments I can receive is when students take something meaningful from my class—or from me—that stays with them beyond the classroom. My first memory of Noah is him bursting into class freshman year with a smile and a story to tell; he brought infectious energy and presence. It has been a privilege to see his sense of curiosity and drive for knowledge grow and flourish.”

As an athlete, Noah has participated in several sports, including football, swim and dive, and baseball. He enjoys the competitive nature of sports – both competing against other schools and working alongside his teammates, while also building lasting friendships. Noah credits Coach Pulford as a significant influence during his time in football and baseball, recognizing the guidance and support he has received throughout his high school athletic career.

In the arts, Noah’s involvement in band and pottery has fostered a positive mindset toward both performance and creative expression. One of his favorite memories was having a piece of his artwork displayed at the Minnesota State Fair, an experience he found both rewarding and motivating. As a musician, Noah has participated in band from middle school through high school and has also been a member of the Symphonic Winds. He is especially proud of the growth he has made in his musical abilities and is continually inspired by band director Mr. Armbruster’s motto, “Here we Grow” which Noah strives to live by both in music and beyond.

Noah’s journey at Richfield High School highlights the impact of hard work, balance and a willingness to grow. Through academics, athletics and the arts, he has embraced every opportunity to challenge himself and support those around him. His nomination for the AAA Award honors not only his achievements, but also the character and determination he brings to everything he does.

After high school, Noah is undecided about which college he will attend, but he plans to major in economics. We are proud of Noah and his accomplishments and look forward to seeing all that he will achieve in the future.
